Chapter 274: There’s something important to do tonight.

--Saturday, July 4, 2172

“Momo! We’re going to take really, really good care of Kai! Don’t worry!”

Some time later, once Momo had calmed down and was sitting beside her mother, holding her hand, Nejire sat next to her and spoke with a huge, seemingly innocent smile. Momo turned to look at the beautiful blue-haired girl and responded with a calm smile, yet full of determination.

“Yes, he’s ours. No one and nothing will take him away from us.”

“Fufu.” Nejire smiled joyfully, and at that moment, a playful voice echoed from the doorway.

“Nya?! My kitty ears detect someone talking about my beloved darling!”

Turning around, everyone saw Ryuko in her hero costume, speaking with a mischievous expression, accompanied by the rest of the Pussycats. At that moment, Tomoko rushed in with her arms raised, announcing she was ready to fight anyone.

“Monopolizing is forbidden!!!”

“Guys!!” Seeing them, Nejire exclaimed with a huge smile, then leaped to hug Tomoko and added with a beautiful grin.

“Tomoko Onee-chan! You know, you know! Kai and Mom, finally!”

“Hahaha, looks like they couldn’t resist the temptation. Such naughty women, ‘devouring’ their ‘nephew’…”

Hearing Nejire, Chatora, who was walking toward the stairs while stretching, turned to look at them and commented in a mocking tone. Keiko quickly threw a cushion at him with a slightly embarrassed voice.

“Go to hell.”

“Hahaha.” Chatora let out a visibly amused laugh as he dodged the cushion, then bolted up the stairs upon seeing Yumiko also grab a cushion with a flushed face.

“So, you succeeded. I thought it would take longer.” While Yumiko glared at the stairs, Shino sat across from Keiko and commented with a smile as she removed the robotic ears from her head.

“It was actually pure luck. Today, someone sneaked into the company, and Kai couldn’t find any clues, so he was tense…” Keiko explained calmly while taking a cup of tea offered by Rin.

“What happened?”

Ryuko asked with a serious expression as she sat beside Shino, a look mirrored on the faces of the other girls who hadn’t heard the news. Soon, Keiko began to explain everything that had happened at the company while Rin handed out tea to everyone.

“… To think someone could bypass Kai’s quirk…” After hearing the whole story, Shino commented with a serious expression. Ryuko nodded and asked in a solemn tone.

“What did darling say?”

“Not much. He interrogated the employees and searched everywhere in the company, but he’s tense. It’s obvious someone has us in their sights.” Yumiko said seriously while bringing her teacup to her lips. Tomoko, unusually serious, asked without even touching her tea.

“Should I take some time off to go with him? With my quirk, I could tag whoever’s targeting him and track them.”

“It’s a good idea, but these people are extremely cautious. In the two instances they’ve appeared, if it weren’t for Kai, we wouldn’t have noticed anything strange.” Keiko said seriously. Yumiko soon added as she placed her tea on the coffee table.

“Still, it’s good for Tomoko to accompany him from now on. If they’re that cautious, they’ll avoid attacking him to prevent being ‘tagged.’”

“Kai wouldn't agree. That would mean putting you all in danger, since you’re the ones who spend the most time outside.” Momo said seriously, to which Nejire nodded and added.

“That’s true. He’ll probably say he can also mark them with [Trace] and that it’s better for the Pussycats not to split up.”

“You’re right. Kai won’t accept it so easily… The only option would be to take a break and stay at home…” Shino said thoughtfully, to which Ryuko nodded and looked at Shino to speak seriously.

“That’s a very good option. Do we have anything important on the agenda?”

“Not really. Since the holidays are close, we’ve cleared space in the schedule. So, unless there’s an emergency, we’re basically just patrolling these days.” Shino replied seriously before taking a sip of her tea. Tomoko added in a calmer voice.

“Then let’s look for the right moment to bring it up to him.”

Shino and Ryuko nodded, but just then, Nejire turned to look toward the entrance, where she saw Kai walking in hand-in-hand with Nemuri, both with wet hair, and Kai carrying two cats on his shoulders.

With a leap, Nejire reached Kai, wrapped her legs around his waist, and began kissing his face repeatedly at lightning speed, causing the two cats on his shoulders to jump off. Once satisfied, Nejire spoke with a beautiful smile full of anticipation, looking straight into Kai’s eyes.

“Kai-chan! You’re the best! I knew you could do it! Now we’ll be able to do so many things and always be together! You’re the best in the world!!”

“…”

Kai instinctively hugged Nejire’s waist and stared at her with a dumbfounded expression, inevitably prompting warm giggles from the other women present. But at that moment, Momo stood up and reached Kai in a single step, then took his face in her hands and kissed him. Still holding his face, the aspiring hero looked into his eyes and said firmly.

“Kai, I want you to love and spoil my mom as much as or more than you do me. She truly loves you, and I want her to be happy. That said, from now on, I’ll make sure you’re always ‘satisfied’ and never refuse when you invite me somewhere, so you don’t end up falling into someone else’s hands.”

“…”

Kai’s expression couldn’t help but become even more comical, which made Nemuri laugh joyfully as she hugged him from behind and whispered softly and affectionately in his ear.

“If everyone is happy, it’s because things are being done right… Don’t overthink it. We’ll always be in the future to face the consequences of our decisions together.”

Upon hearing Nemuri, Kai let out a small sigh and then looked at the faces of each of the women present. Once Kai saw their different expressions, he spoke in a calm but serious voice.

“First, I have to apologize. I gave in to temptation without discussing it with you all. Regardless of whether it was what you wanted, the right thing would’ve been to talk openly with you, but I didn’t. I kept quiet, and that was wrong. Now, I hope you’ll truly stop doing things like this in the future. I don’t aspire to be some ‘harem king’ or anything like that.

“All I want is to be happy, and for me, that means having a peaceful life, building something from time to time, and sharing my days with the people I love—nothing more. Originally, I never thought about having a relationship beyond family with any of you because I was afraid it might ruin what we had. I’d rather stay a friend or brother forever than risk never seeing you again due to the typical problems of a relationship, especially with my possessiveness.

“But since things have come to this, I swear I’ll do everything I can to keep us together and at peace. I truly love you all from the bottom of my heart, and I hope to make you happy. But I’m just a human, with weaknesses and flaws, so I’ll need your support too. This unusual relationship will be far more complicated than a normal one, and we can only get through it if we support each other.”

“You don’t have to apologize, Kai… It was our fault…”

Hearing Kai, Momo felt a lump in her throat and hugged her beloved while speaking in a low voice. At that moment, Nejire, with teary eyes, hugged Kai tightly and spoke with a voice full of sincerity and affection.

“…I love you too, Kai… I love you so much, and I’ll love you for the rest of my life…”

At that moment, Tomoko, also with teary eyes, lunged to hug Kai’s free side, closely followed by Shino and Ryuko, who wore similar expressions. Meanwhile, Nemuri subtly moved to throw Kai off balance. Pressed on all sides by soft, sensual bodies, Kai couldn’t regain his footing and ended up falling to the floor.

As Kai fell, Nejire loosened her legs around his waist, which Tomoko took advantage of by quickly positioning herself on his chest. Soon, Kai landed on his back while Nemuri held his head. Instantly, Momo and Nejire rushed to ‘claim’ his arms.

Meanwhile, Ryuko and Shino looked at Nemuri with somewhat helpless smiles as she adjusted to rest Kai’s head on her lap. Seeing her sisters, Nemuri gave them a beautiful smile, then patted the floor on either side of her. After nodding, Shino and Ryuko sat beside Nemuri and began gently caressing the sides of Kai’s face while Tomoko spoke in a soft voice.

“I just want to stay like this… Everything else doesn’t matter… We’ll deal with it when the time comes.”

The girls nodded in unison, while Momo and Nejire lifted their heads to look at their mothers, who were still seated. With a smile, Keiko looked at the hesitant Yumiko and extended her hand, which the beautiful blue-haired mother took after a few seconds before standing up. Soon, Keiko and Yumiko reached Kai, where they parted and each lay down in Kai’s arms, just behind their daughters, with subtle blushes on their faces.

“I really hope this happiness can last…” Kai said softly, at which point Nemuri responded with a determined voice.

“It will. We’ll make sure it lasts forever.”

“Together, we’re invincible! Nothing can tear us apart!” Nejire said cheerfully, at which point Ryuko gently pressed Kai’s cheek and spoke with a playful smile.

“And now we might finally be able to ‘defeat’ you, darling… so get ready. Your days of ‘invincibility’ are over.”

Hearing Ryuko, Nemuri and Shino’s eyes lit up with anticipation and a desire to compete, while Yumiko couldn’t help but blush deeply, and Keiko let out a small, mischievous laugh. Meanwhile, Tomoko licked her lips with desire, then gave her beloved a passionate kiss before speaking in a seductive voice.

“I’m looking forward to tonight…”

Hearing Tomoko, Yumiko and Momo blushed intensely, while Nejire looked at her with a hint of envy before turning to her mother with impure intentions that somehow seemed incredibly innocent coming from her. But at that moment, Kai fell silent, reflecting for a few seconds before looking at Nemuri and then Keiko. Looking at the pair of beautiful women, Kai made up his mind and spoke in a serious voice.

“There’s something important to do tonight. I found out a UA worker has been selling information. He made the deal today, and he's packing to take the first flight to Russia tomorrow, so we need to catch them tonight.”

“What information did they sell?”

Shino asked in a more serious tone, so Kai gave a summary of what had happened, leading to a contemplative silence. After a few seconds, Nemuri brushed Kai’s hair and spoke seriously, looking directly into his eyes.

“We really need to catch him, but it’s best if I do it. With the evidence, we can apprehend him legally and get more information on who contacted him. Then, Principal Nezu can take action to improve UA’s security and prevent something like this from happening again.”

“Let us come with you.” Ryuko said to Nemuri with a serious tone, to which she nodded calmly, at which point Kai added seriously.

“Even if you catch him, I’m coming too. It might be a trap, so it’s better to be close.”

“That’s true. It’s better if you come with us, but avoid doing anything unless it’s necessary.” Shino said seriously, to which Kai nodded casually. At that moment, Tomoko said with a smile.

“Then Momo, Nejire and Chatora will stay to guard the house!”

“Let’s do it that way!” said Nejire with a broad smile, thinking about taking the opportunity to talk in ‘depth’ with her mother.

“Be very careful.” Momo added with a slightly worried voice, to which everyone nodded.

“We will.” Nemuri said as they all stood up to free Kai, who, after getting to his feet, spoke calmly.

“I’ll go change.”
