Chapter 73: ‘Chance’ meeting

It was not long before Simon was completely enamored with the festivities which were mostly a cycle of psychics shoving dicks in their mouths while the Tamers made weird faces.

But that was not what he was excited about, what had kept him smiling of so many people coming together to enjoy an event. Everybody was laughing joking and generally having a good time... outside of maybe four unfortunate souls.

Everyone else had a smile on their face, some were even feeding their monster girls right in the crowds.

There was this sense of revelry and unity that he did not even know was possible among anyone. It was so novel to him who had no context for this outside of words on a page.

The closest he got to this was when he had lunch with his dad and a few of his monster girls would join in for a meal of their own.

"Such a nice and fun scene. Am I right?"

Simon nearly jumped out of his skin at the voice. His senses picked up absolutely nothing till right then and he was sure the person speaking was not there even a second ago.

His head turned to see the striking blonde young dude he had met just the other day. His striking slightly too small fancy white and silver regalia that was unlike the rest of the crowd in their back and grey robes made him stand out even more.

However, outside of himself, nobody seemed to notice the new intruder.

Simon was weirded out by the man's sudden appearance but Leone had asked him a question and he instead decided to focus on the innocuous question.

"Yeah..."

Leone grinned at his answer before turning to the stage.

"A very fine scene indeed..."

The boy had a moment of forlorn before shaking his head and turning to him, the grin firmly in place.

"Sorry for the surprise but I tend to get swamped by people if I don't keep my power up."

Again his lack of any real context was getting to him, being unable to properly empathize, but, what he could understand was that the man in front of him was special.

That came with a burden as Simon had been subjected to not too long ago.

"I get it."

One of Leone's eyebrows raised.

"Do you?"

Then his grin changed to a soft sympathetic smile.

"Wait... Let me guess, got called to say you are something special and everyone else is more qualified to tell you how to lead your life."

Simon's eyes widened.

"How did you know?"

"You had that look in your eye. I would know. I had it too."

"Did you?"

"Yeah... Power always comes at a price..."

Simon could feel the weight of his words, there was some story behind them. This had his curiosity piqued.

Leone was about to say something more before his eyes widened.

"Shit! I just remembered! I need to do a thing!"

He focused on Simon as he said.

"Sorry! I will talk to you later!"

As suddenly as he came Leone disappeared. Completely disappearing from his senses.

He blinked a couple of times unable to believe his eyes and rubbed them a couple of times just to make sure.

It was all very sudden and left Simon with a lot of questions. It was needless to say his interest was piqued.

"Master?"

Leone was still nearby taking a leisurely stroll around the campus.

His bulky arms were behind his head, a whistle on his lips. It was all very scenic

The ebony ring on his right middle finger quickly broke this tranquility as it vibrated sending the words spoken by the monster girl currently in her equipment form directly into his head.

"May I ask a question?"

"Shoot."

"Why did we lie and leave? I schedule your appointments. I do not believe we anything urgent today. In fact, was it not completely emptied to get him to see our side?"

"Oh! That is simple, he is not ready."

"Not ready?"

Leone snorted.

"For all your involvement in my business, you still suck at reading faces."

A prim answer came back.

"That is not a part of my duties. You are the leader, you make the decisions and deal with the Tamers. My job is to manage your crazy habits so that you may get things done."

"Feeling sassy aren't we?"

Leone's words were light and so was his tone but the next words coming out of the ring proved that monster girl knew her master well.

"I am sorry if my curiosity caused offense Master!"

"It is alright, you were just curious. No big deal. Also Slave-cat."

"Yes master?"

"I do not believe you need any feeding for the rest of the week. Can you remove it from the schedule?"

"...Yes master..."

"Thank you. Now to answer your question, I think Simon is currently not ready to hear my pitch. Even if he is, I do not think he will accept my proposal. And. So I threw in some seeds and made myself scarce."

"I see... I am guessing, you need us to continue to scout him?"

"Yes. Why is that a problem?"

"No! Master!"

"Good. Now let's get something to eat, I am feeling slightly hungry. Also send in Snake-servant. She can replace your feeding slots."

"...Yes, master..."
