Chapter 71:Pieces move

Simon found out something very cool today about dungeons. The time inside was accelerated around 60 times.

He thought he might have missed another couple of classes, given the ominous warning he received for missing the first time.  Turns out not even an hour passed since he had entered.

This was all very cool, space manipulation was something he was used to. Time manipulation was something he never even heard of before and the possibilities... were endless...

What if someone stayed in one for a thousand years? Most tamers who pursued mastery pretty much always became ageless. Too many of the more powerful monster girls were all immune to the ravages of time.

So would they manage to learn the meaning of existence?

These were the type of things going through his head as he carried himself out of the Colosseum.

All of the more negative life-affecting ones were sitting firmly at the back of his head.

After that succubus did her magic and had that little talk Simon realized something, he had no control over his past. Neither should he worry about things so clearly outside of his control. What he should do was take one step at a time and take things as they come.

Needlessly worrying would do nothing but sour his mood. And he could not point to exactly which part of her speech but the succubus's words lightened the sense of burden.

Thinking of things he couldn't do made him realize that he still had much of the day left to himself. There was still light out and going home seemed like a mistake.

He looked at the two sleeping monster girls latched onto his sides. They were deep in slumber and yet somehow managed to attach themselves to him like glue.

An idea popped into his head. Actually two, but for the second to happen he needed to see if the first worked.

"Girls, can you turn into equipment?"

He asked his sleeping monster girls.

He had tried this only once before and the last time Amy was fully awake to listen to his commands. This was just a shot in the dark hoping he could get something to happen. He would explore either way but not lugging around two bodies on both his arms would be ideal.

Surprisingly it did.

Amy turned into a white long coat and his right hand was now covered with a black glove.

"Alright. Let's explore!"

"You do not need to scream."

"There is another ascendant! In this school!"

"Yes. And your point?"

"My point! Is that there is another ascendant in this school!"

*Sigh*

"Does it change anything?"

"Well!... No..."

"Good. Now. What is the number of 'hidden' legendary monster girls?"

"Last time I checked? fourteen."

"Fourteen!?!? Damn... That's substantially more than what I expected."

"I mean... It is one of the largest concentrations of tamers in this entire continent. It is a literal buffet for those girls."

"...Shit..."

"What? Between the two of us, there are seven legendary-level monster girls. Why are you scared?"

"And that is why you are still a novice collector."

*huff*

"Please! I have bound three legendary monster girls, I like to see how many tamers match this novice."

"Hey, idiot. How many legendary monster gems do we have at the moment? And how many monster girls can you field."

"One for both. Why do you ask?"

"What happens when we capture our target?"

"Oh! That's easy there is a massive surge of magic.... ooh!"

"Yeah, and I can only field two of my four girls at a time. If even half of those monster girls intervene we become outnumbered and outpowered."

"Yeah... That makes sense... But... don't we have like special teleportation shards just for that occasion?"

"And you want to leave the legendary monster gem behind?"

"Why do we have to do that?"

*groan*

"While the motherfucking monster girl is still being subdued the magical power is going to be too turbulent to do anything as risky as teleportation especially when we are inside a spatial anomaly!"

"Oh! Now I get it! But what do we do then?"

"We wait."

"Wait?!? We have already been in this school for like four months! Do you know how hard it is to blend in with students, keep your essence, monster girls kept hidden, and all the other shit besides?"

"Okay. So do you want to file a complaint against collector Babylon?"

"...No."

"That's what I thought. Now be a good tamer and do as we were told. Besides the ascendant has already caught the eye of our target... I think I have a plan to get our plant inside her pot."

"How is that?"

"You will just have to wait and see. But don't worry. Has any legendary ever escaped us?"

"Nope."

"Precisely. Because we are The Collectors, no legendary monster will ever our grasp for we are the greatest, and only the pinnacle monsters are worthy of our bond."

"What if she gets tamed before we get her?"

"Oh God Damn it!"

"What? It's not like it has never happened before."

"I was making an expression you imbecile!"
