Chapter 66:Werewolf vs Tier 3 Boss Basilisk
Being unable to move was a horrifying feeling. When every bit of your being was screaming at you to run away and hide but the best you can manage is a twitch of the eye was just the icing.
However, this feeling did not last long, as all three of his companions moved so fast that they blinked to the boss only to be stopped mid-leap.
At the same time he was able to regain control over his body and the first thing through his mind was self-preservation.
He wanted to run away, his instincts hating what a single glare could do to his body.
But another part of him roared in the challenge, a deep part of his soul analyzing the threat before him and finding him wanting.
That part of was him infuriated that such a weak monster made him feel fear even for a moment. Such a weak entity was not qualified, especially in front of his pack. Not while a potential packmate was in his presence.
He was the alpha and he would show it, here and now.
The rationale part of his brain was confused by this onset of sudden desires.
This sudden desire shift came out of nowhere and only happened once before.
When he desperately wanted to leave his house.
Being so new to his own powers, he did not try to reign them in. He simply did not properly know how he would do such a thing. Instead, he let them flow freely.
All three physically imposing party members were stopped in their tracks, trapped by the gaze of the Basilisk, who instinctively knew allowing any form of a motion for the three was a bad idea.
So they could not even stop the boy as he ran at the monster, as he moved his form started to shift, it got larger and larger, getting covered in a coat of black fur that kept getting thicker and thicker.
His mouth and nose elongated turning into a large snout, his mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth, and his arms getting larger and tipped with lethal claws, his legs enlarged turning lupine the foot now massive paws. A large black bushy tail sprouted behind his back. It ended with two large wolf years at the top of his head pointing straight at his prey.
His blood-red canine eyes cried murder as he lunged at the massive head only to be swatted away with a massive flick of the snake's tail.
It hit him squarely on the side and he was sent hurling at the nearest craggy structure.
He hit the thing with a massive thud, the wind getting knocked out of his lungs. Outside of that though he was fine. None of the impacts did much other than some superficial damage.
He was immediately on his feet and jumped back at the snake which was now fully awake. It towered at around 60 feet above the surface and it snapped at the leaping werewolf.
By now Simon was already in the air and could do nothing about the course of his flight so he did not bother. Instead, he pushed both his arms out.
As the snake closed its maw around the human, it found itself inevitably stuck as the outstretched arms stopped it dead.
The bite force of a basilisk was immense and even as an ascended human with the bond of two different monster girls, he strained to keep it open.
His hands shook as the massive serpent tried to close its mouth. But he held strong.
The Basilisk started shaking its head violently trying to push the pesky piece of meat inside of it off-balance.
Simon held strong, even if only just. His physical state was very precarious. His mental state was in a vastly different stage.
His snout in a vicious grin as his blood pumped, his claws digging into the soft inner flesh. He was having the time of his life.
With a particular vicious shake, Simon was torn off his claws carving a massive wound in the basilisk's mouth on the way out.
However, he did not come out unscathed, his right arm got caught on the fangs creating a large gash on his forearm.
Once more he landed on his feet creating a massive splash as he was back in waist-deep water. A testament to his raw strength that it barely affected his mobility.
He growled clutching his bleeding arm.
Both Stella and Amy thrashed in their cages still unable to move, their bonds raging as they were keenly aware their beloved tamer was in pain. But their lack of magical resistance neutered their ability to do anything as they cried wordlessly, their entire bodies now submerged underwater.
Monster girls breathed to take in the trace amounts of natural essence in the atmosphere and since all three of them were full on the stuff they had no problem holding their breath, but that was not even on their minds at the moment.
Their injured tamer was.
Said Tamer's right arm was simply dangling, he was unable to put any strength into it. In fact, Simon could not feel anything from his fingers up to his right shoulder.
It helped with the pain, at least, that was enough.
Simon was really really angry now.
His eyes glowed with an infernal light and hot steam escaped his mouth and nose.
His fangs and claws started to have a shimmering distorted quality to it.
Most of all, the black bands around his arms and legs now had a dark ominous sheen.
"Grrr..."
All of the fight left him as he suddenly felt his entire body lock up.
"!!!"
His eyes widened with impotent rage as he saw the water coming closer and closer to his face. Both eyes were focused on him now and his instincts felt the paralytic gaze.
His inner beast roared with indignation as he went under. The massive body of water completely subsumed his body. The last thing he heard as, his still wolfish ears, got submerged was.
The yell of a fearsome gruff yet feminine voice.
"Die! Bitch!"
