Chapter 64: Post snack Revelations
Rana watched the boy languidly playing with his wolf while the cat was packing everything back into her portal.
A thousand things were going through her, but one thing stood out from the rest. A single feeding was enough to fill her beyond maximum capacity. That was not possible unless a specific set of circumstances were met.
This boy was an era-defining entity and there were only four others across the entire continent of Phunine.
The kid needed to know and quickly. Otherwise, he would be caught in the jaws of fate dictated by the assholes that sat on the throne.
Her interactions with the boy were brief but she understood by now that he had a good head above his shoulders and more importantly, truly cared for monster girls. She needed to preserve that, maybe in the future when he became huge and got to make decisions he could make the world a better place for monster girls like her.
But that all started with her next words.
"Kid! You are not normal!"
Simon looked up from Amy with a raised eyebrow and a grin.
"I know that."
The little bastard was feeling proud he knocked her out in a single blow. Rana could feel that in his body language. Her inner orc wanted to rage in the challenge but she clamped down on it, hard.
"Not what I mean, you little twerp."
Simon tilted his head, in a fucking adorable fashion as he blinked his blood-red eyes.
"What do you mean then?"
Rana sighed, his essence was doing weird shit to her. But she powered through.
"See, do you know how essence values work?"
Now his lopsided inexperience reared its head.
"Essence values?"
Calming down at his honest confusion she took charge, her tone grave.
"Yeah, it's like the stuff they use to measure how good a tamer's cum is and stuff like that."
"No?"
"Well then. What I am gonna say cannot leave this dungeon got it?"
Simon stood straighter her hand now only gently on Amy no longer moving, his eyes focused and a tiny shimmer in his bands.
"Okay... Why?"
Rana let out a long breath as she thought about where to begin. Given his inhuman capacity to take in information, she tried to give him the full picture.
"Listen, kid. Your life is gonna be hard enough as it is. If they figure out what you are... Well, let's just say your life isn't gonna be your own."
"Okay... Now you are scaring me..."
Both Amy's ears were pricked up and pointed at Rana, even Stella in the distance who diligently packing everything up had her ears in their direction.
"Hmmm... Let me explain a few things first."'
She began with the basics.
"Starting with essence values, there are two important stats. That is essence quality and essence quantity. The brainiacs at Planar University even quantified it. Your gonna learn about them in much more depth about it in your classes but for now, just know that based on our tier and overall power there is only so much a monster girl can take in quantity in a single helping."
Simon nodded at this.
"Okay?"
She let out a sigh, what she was about to say was only going to take away the boy's carefree life but it needed to be said.
She would not allow this child to become like the monsters society makes ascendants become.
"Now this part is the important bit so listen carefully. I should not have been full to the brim on a single helping. That just does not happen with normal tamers, even blessed or doubly blessed ones. You see a normal monster girl needs three helpings to be considered 'full' on average. I took only one from you and I am stuffed beyond compare. Do you know why that is relevant?"
"No..."
"See, essence quality is the other important bit in this equation. Most tamers have a quality of one or the base, every time a miracle bond takes place, that number goes up by one, for every twenty total tiers of monster girls a tamer has it goes up by one, and finally, if they are born with innate monster girl abilities referred to as the ascended, it goes up by two."
Simon's eyes widened in surprise, his brain working overtime. This was followed by a sad sense of realization and acceptance.
The price of intellect was the burden of knowledge. Whoever said that shit to Rana was spot on.
"Now can you do the math? If a single swallow filled me past my full and you have two miracle bonds, what is your essence quality?"
He robotically counted. His eyes were now distant, the glow in the bands around his wrists a bit more pronounced.
The boy already figured out that ascended meant something powerful, and Rana did not even need to mention it.
The fact that he figured out what that meant for his future was the sad part.
"At a minimum of four, given that I have two monster girls both a tier 5 it should be three... Which means..."
Rana tried to lighten the mood and injected a bit of her usual boisterous cheer into her tone.
"Yep! You, sir, have monster girl blood in you. This means you are fucking [Ascended], who are like the legendary versions of the blessed, they are born with the ability to bind tier sixes and their essence quality is three times normal. This means your daddy at the minimum is a hero-tier tamer and fathered a child with an epic or legendary monster. What did you say your dad was again?"
"A farmer?"
"Man... I joked last time but now I really wanna visit this farm of yours. Anyway, tamers born with monster girl abilities are called the ascended and are born from hero tier tamers or above. The catch is, the stronger you are the harder it is to conceive children with monster girls."
This brought an unwitting grin to the boy's face.
Good, it meant he was not too overwhelmed by this bit of life-changing news.
"Like in the last decade, there have been only four recorded ascended, you are technically the fifth. Now, the fact that you got two miracle bonds makes more sense. Ascended gets a hefty multiplier to miracle bonds, still abysmally low but still more understandable."
Rana made an exaggerated nod, acting slightly lecherous, trying to pull out from where the entire mood was going.
The wolf girl also joined in bumping her hips into the boy before circling him with playful barks.
"Well damn."
The boy looked a lot less gloomy his eyes now on his puppy with that familial happiness. His tone, however, betrayed some of his inner turmoil.
"What do we do now?"
Rana gave him an exaggerated nod, trying to overblow her answer to a comical degree.
"We bury that shit so no one knows. I technically don't have to tell them anything. They give me more gruel if I do as a sort of positive incentive but no bad shit if I don't tell them anything. After all, my job is just to see how well you delve everything else is just for bonus gruel points."
It worked, Simon looked very flabbergasted.
"Okay..."
Rana made another exaggerated expression as she continued.
"I am serious. Your life is already going to be very chaotic and you don't want it to be anymore by this to the shit pile. But that's just a suggestion from me. You can do what you want to. "
Before letting that sink in she shouted, hoping it would help.
"Ah right! Before you go into that daydreaming whatever the fuck you go to in your head. The next floor is the boss."
