Chapter 32: ‘New-equipment’
Two boys were walking on one of the many stone pathways that led from one facility to another. The number of students on these paths was currently few as the afternoon had the highest concentration of classes though there was still quite a few monster girl staff milling about doing one task or another.
So they did not mind when Simon shouted at the top of his lungs.
"I can do what now?!"
Simon was flabbergasted for the umpteenth time today. It was getting old very very fast. But he could not help it, his worldview was shattered again.
"I mean this is pretty much common sense," Daniel said, the more the boy talked to this new student the more he realized how much of a hillbilly he was.
Normally, Daniel would waste his time with such a dude. They never amounted to anything and were nothing more than a distraction. But he would humor this new one. Getting close to a 'blessed one' had a lot of benefits.
"Not to me!" Simon said excitedly.
Then he followed with.
"How do I turn my monster girl into equipment?"
This was what he was so excited about. Something he was inadvertently shown as Daniel had decided his monster girls was too much of a distraction. Now he wanted to know how to do it.
"Just ask your monster girl. If she feels like it, she will fuse with you, though with a complete bond they rarely refuse." Daniel answered very bored with this conversation but humoring Simon nonetheless.
"That's it?" Simon asked tilting his head.
"Yep. That's it." He was given a nod along with the answer.
"Ok... Amy! Can you turn it into equipment?"
Amy gave him a playful bark before leaping at him. Simon instinctively held up his arms to brace himself for the tackle that was about to come.
Except there was no impact. He removed his arms to see what happened and he found the vicinity suspiciously void of Amy. He looked around to find her nowhere.
A whistle escaped Daniel as he said.
"Damn... That's a cool long coat."
His words made Simon finally look at himself and he too was wide-eyed at his new article of clothing. On top of his robes was now a pure white long coat with metallic accents, the collar was made of long pure white fur with some metallic protrusion strewn about that looked suspiciously like teeth and the coat sleeves also ended with similar metallic protrusions but these looked like claws. Simon somehow knew that if he thought about it the 'claws' would attach themselves to the top of his hands and lengthen to make weapons. He could also light them on fire which was another cool feature.
He patted his coat and sure enough, it felt like he was patting Amy as if her fur was tiny. He could also feel Amy at the
"Woah..." He said.
"Woah indeed. I wonder if my monster girls will become that cool when they reach tier 5." Daniel commented thoughtfully, then he added.
"You should turn her back... The school does not like overwear on top of the robes... Something about making you hard to identify with the naked eye. Also, it looks off on top of the robes..."
Simon had absolutely no sense of fashion so he thought he looked fine. But the former part of his statement was something he could agree with.
He did even have to say anything, as he thought about it his overcoat shimmered and Amy leaped off him. Along with it, the coat disappeared in a shower of dim luminescent particles.
She had this look on her that demanded pets and Simon was happy to oblige.
"You are a good girl aren't you Amy?" He asked as he ruffled her fur.
*Arf!* She let out a happy bark.
"So... with that minor detour out of the way where are we actually going?" Daniel asked.
"Oh! Right! Let me ask!" Simon said all of a sudden realizing they had not moved in about thirty minutes.
'Where is my next class?' He thought with one of the petite psychics clear in his mind.
Immediately the neutral-toned but feminine voice answered.
'Follow this path until you come up on the third left. Take it and the second entrance you see is where you have to go. When inside staff will guide you to your exact location.'
'Thanks!'
'Do not mention.'
"So... did the psychos tell you where you need to go?"
Daniel asked him the moment he came back to himself.
"Huh?"
"Do you know where to go?" He asked again.
"Yes," Simon answered.
"Then lead on! Gonna meet the the 'might seven'! This day has to be the best day ever!" His gaunt friend shouted to himself while he tried to drag Simon along.
This confused Simon. Was he, not the one who knew the way?
