Chapter 30.5:The mind of ancient plant
Flora was tapping her feet, something she did when she was nervous. Something she had not done in a long time.
But today had to be a special exception. After all, how often do you meet a tamer that can feed a legendary monster?
They exist. Her past could attest to that.
But one that had one bond and was all but a child?
Those were very very rare. Even the children with tier five bonds as their first bonds would not withstand a single feeding from her. To do so, the bare minimum of power necessary was a tamer who could make seven bonds. The number of bonds a tamer could make directly correlated to a tamer's overall power.
That could only mean one thing, the child was born with the ability to bind six monster girls. The only stories she knew of were the direct descendants of the [heroes], but they rarely had children. The more powerful the tamer, the less fertile they are.
A child born from a hero had not happened in the last twelve years, at least to her knowledge. But there was not a single doubt in her mind that Simon was [hero-born].
If there was ever a reason for Flora to run away, that was reason enough. Even the thought of [heroes] made her skin crawl.
But her monster girl instincts had other ideas.
His essence was so rich that even his presence had almost sent her into a frenzy. She had almost lost control...
That whole act of 'demonstration' was just an act so she could feed on him. She was so enamored that she had completely forgotten to suppress her needs and took from him as a monster girl of her power normally would and he was fine.
Now, that she thought about it, much of it made perfect sense. He was powerful enough that her instincts desired him while she was not feral. Non-feral monster girls are only attracted to tamers that they feel can feed them. Something Simon had so vividly demonstrated.
Following that line of reasoning, so many things fell into place.
He seemed out of place with everything, a sign that he had been raised in seclusion.
His bond was a puppy. Shape-shifting monsters could not fully transform until they were high-tier. There were only two ways to have a tier 5 monster girl as your first: extraordinary circumstance or someone gave one to you deliberately. Seeing how well-adjusted the boy looked, Flora was willing to bet on the latter.
There was still the reason why he was sent to Planar University and why no one outside of herself had realized he was [hero-born] with a tier-five first bond.
That part had her stumped... Surely, the university with its vast resources could figure out what he was.
She believed that did not happen because of two reasons, lack of any uproar in the university and the fact that the boy was sitting in her class so casually.
Another thing that bothered her, now that she was thinking about it, was that none of the unbonded monster girls showed any interest in him. A tamer with seven bond slots who had open bonds was like honey to unbonded monster girls. But the other dryads in the area were outright ignoring him.
If that was the case then why was she so enchanted?
Unable to get a snap answer this time, she did a thorough recollection of his body, trying to find anything out of place.
Nope, everything was just like a normal above average human.
His penis was large... but that did not matter at all to monster girls. For some reason, human women loved larger phalluses, a trait she would not understand. Then again she understood little about the fairer and far more powerful sex.
Is anything else out of place?
There were black bands around his wrist...
A whisper of a thought came to Flora that made her stop in her tracks. Slowly but surely that whisper transformed into a full-fledged explanation.
If not for the fact she was still in class, she would start crying. Of course, the one person that caught her eye would also have complications.
She remembered what those bands represented and her idea was firmly given that his monster girl had similar bands around her paws.
This was old magic, one that fell out of fashion since the 'Great Collapse'. Even then the use was incredibly rare. These days, it was such a niche that only beings like her who lived in the war even had the chance to know what it was. She just happened to be one of them.
Simon was 'cursed' with a high-level sealing spell that could selectively seal certain aspects of a tamer and their bond. It was so precise, that it could seal certain functions of ability or trait while leaving the rest fully functioning.
Well... Her life was about to get a lot more interesting...
