Chapter 21:A hectic day.
Simon was now standing in front of the library for his final act for today and was beyond mentally exhausted.
First, he had to go to the tailors to get his school robes made which took an hour or so where he had to completely still and then wait to have the clothes made on the spot. At least he had a very bouncy arachne to look at while it was all going on.
The next action was even more tiring when he was asked to choose some extra courses to add on top of the compulsory ones. That was another couple of hours or so as he chose magic, survival, and combat as his extra courses after a big dumb of pros and cons dumped on him. In this one at least a petite psychic had his mind kept level.
While he was doing all this he was taken to different parts of the Planar University grounds to get him more accustomed to where everything was which was another drain on his rapidly draining mental capacity. Physically he was frustratingly fine, if he was pushed he could probably go on for another week. But he was completely out of it at this point and just wanted to get things done
Now he was finally seeing the end. Amy was having a blast running around everywhere and the cat girl Bella seemed to have an infinite store of energy but he had neither and he just wanted to get home and crash on the bed. But before that, he had one more stop. Getting his books evaluated and here he was.
"Last stop on the Bella express!"
Simon could only groan a response while Amy playfully barked along. Bella had lost quite a bit of her wariness against Amy when she barely even reacted to the cat girl even when she made a forgetful impact on the playful puppy. All she got in exchange was an annoyed yip.
He entered the hall uncaring by all the random stares he received. It was like that the entire and he no longer had the mood to even give a response.
They came up with another Psychic flair, one who was doing a sexy librarian routine. Every Psychic Flair he had met had some sort of eye-catching routine and despite their overall modest build they often managed to catch his eye. But right now he could not give the purple-haired three-eyed cute barely legal-looking monster girl a proper response. Without any preamble plopped the bag he had been carrying all day onto the desk.
The petite monster girl in her raunchy library uniform gave him a raised eyebrow before Bella cut in.
"Books to be cataloged and checked!"
Taking it as some sort of command she unzipped the bag and took the books out one by and despite his tiredness, he noticed how she would make these randomly eye-catching gestures now and then. Like a cute moan when she read through a certain page, or taking off her fake glasses and pushing them inside her lips in a very suggestive way. Every action seemed to try to catch his eye in one way or another.
"All of these books are new and I evaluate them at 30 gold and 42 silver."
And the whole illusion was ruined by her robotic and to-the-point tone. That was the juxtaposition of the Psychic Flairs, everything about them stays dangerously suggestive until it is time for them to open their mouths... or minds.
"Wow! That must be some pretty awesome books!" Bella remarked and seeing her excitement Amy also barked excitedly her tail wagging.
Simon on the other hand had no concept of money or how much any currency was worth. He only had a vague notion that currency existed from passing remarks from his dad when he talked about trading. So in answer to the amount received was.
"Ok?"
The Psychic Flair gave him a nod which made fluffy purple pigtails bounce.
"Cash or Credit?"
Simon was now lost which was not boding well for his fraying mindscape.
"Uh?..."
"Give him credits! He can transform that into cash later!" Bella came to his rescue.
"Alright. [Status screen] please."
This time Simon knew what to do and gave her his metallic card.
She took it glanced at it and gave it back to him. From his talks with the other psychic flairs apparently, that was enough to get things done.
"Done. Please go to the exchange counter if you wish to transfer your funds."
"Alright! With that, we are done!" Bella cheered her arms up in the air with Amy jumping up and down.
Simon only gave them a scathing look, unable to fathom how they had the mental bandwidth to deal with all this bullshit. Maybe they didn't and that is why they are so upbeat. Anyway, he was done and he was ready to hit the sack.
