Chapter 13: Outside the house
"Come on, Simon. All you have to do is open the door. That is it. After that you are free." Simon was currently psyching himself up. This was the first time he was ever going to leave the house while not under the influence of some magical transformation. Amy, for her part was in her monster form, which was a massive white wolf, and she was currently rubbing herself on him as one of his hands was idly petting her.
Behind him was a cow aunt carrying an oversized backpack that she said had all the books he will need for his school.
The school was the reason he was being allowed to leave the house. At first, he was confused as his dad was the one responsible for schooling him. It turned out, his dad got caught in a bit of a hiccup and could not return for the foreseeable future. Simon would have more thoughts on that revelation.
But his dad had made plans for such an event by using cow aunt to enroll him in the local school, that was all the information he was given.
It was enough to get him excited. He was going to leave the house, for the first time in his life, all other thoughts had taken a backseat to that revelation. He was very very excited but his heart was not allowed to prepare for this momentous occasion as he had to go to school the next day. In his happiness, he had accepted quite easily, but now that it was upon him. He had found it difficult to take the final step.
It was the fear of the unknown, the fear of trying something new. He knew that he had read enough books to know what was happening. But even if he knew what was going on, it did not make the process any easier.
A gentle push came from behind, bringing him out of his reverie. He craned his neck to see his little wolf shoving him from behind, her glittering blue eyes looking up at him in encouragement, her tail slightly wagging and her mouth giving out a cute whine. His cow aunt also had a wry smile on her face but she kept her mouth shut.
That look gave him the push he needed and with a burst of courage, he twisted the knob and swung the door wide open. The first thing he noticed as the sunlight rolled in was that the outside was absurdly bright. He immediately covered his eyes as it momentarily blinded him. There were very few windows around the house and those that were had tinted glasses and netting so he never realized. He had a supernatural vision to the point he could see in complete darkness. This also made his vision very sensitive to light. As such the shift from his dim house to the bright light outside was headache-inducing.
"Ah. I forgot y’ain’t used to sunlight. s'okay should get used to it in a bit." Cow aunt said wryly.
Simon could only groan as he tried to get his vision back. It took a couple of seconds but he opened his eyes, and by then they had already adjusted to the sun as it did not blind him anymore but was still quite bright.
Another push from his monster girl and he stopped lamenting his eyesight and took the step forward pushing him outside the confines of his him and up to this point his whole world.
He felt... normal. There was no burst of joy, no relief, no moment of enlightenment. He was now standing on the porch of his home with the cool breeze on his skin that combined with the sunlight to give a rather pleasant sensation. But that was about all the thoughts he had.
He took in the rocking porch chair that lay on one side next to discarded glass bottles. The wooden railing was function over form like the rest of the house. A couple of dozen feet away was the massive red barn where the farm monster girls were kept. This was the first time he ever lay eyes on it and it looked mundane. He did not know what he was expecting but when he had heard his dad talk about how great it was, he had expected more flair.
But he had no clue about farming so what did he know about barns?
Amy for her part looked very excited. Her eyes darted in every direction and everywhere she looked it was open fields. Her canine instincts wanted her to bolt to run to her heart's content. She had felt cooped up inside the house and wanted to stretch her legs.
What mattered more, however, was her master. She needed to be next to her master to make sure he was safe, protected, and happy. When she was first bonded to her master, he often looked sad and lonely. But the more he played with her the happier he looked and she loved playing so it was a win-win. He also looked happy giving her pets and feeding her. Amy was sure her master was the best master ever and if she could never run again she would still be the happiest Amy ever. Besides, she wanted to run with her master. She had run alone all her life but never again, she would run as a pack from now on.
"What is it, Amy?" Her master called out to her.
"Master! I want to run!" She exclaimed happily though it came out more as a yip as her voice was weird in her monster form.
"Oh! Sure. You can run. Just stay close by." He said kindly.
She shook her head.
"I want to run with you!"
"Oh. Hmm..." He looked thoughtful for a moment.
Her master then looked at giant titty for advice who only shrugged her shoulders. Then he looked at her and said.
"Sure. Why not. Never really had the opportunity to run before."
Master looked like was about to run in his human form so she shook her head again. She wanted her master to run freely with her.
"Master! I want to run with you in your wolf form!"
He looked at her with an amused expression which made her very happy before huffing.
"Sure. Why not?"
