Mystery and armor
"Alright, Echidna, tell me the truth. I promise (perhaps) not to get mad."
To briefly recap what happened: previously, following the sudden and chaotic spectacle Ken made by bolting out of the classroom, time smoothly marched forward.
<"As I have said countless times, I didn't do a thing to that person, and frankly, I still have no idea why they fled in such a scandal.">
Right now, if you're wondering what I'm up to, the answer is simple...
"So, was he 'abnormal', or was I somehow the one who was?"
I am currently interrogating Echidna about the possible reason why that guy ran off as if he'd seen a monster, right when I walked up to him with all the friendliness in the world!
Was the weirdo me for doing something without realizing it, or was he the true epicenter of strangeness?
<"That's impossible.">
So, looking for an answer, I asked Echidna!
<"I didn't feel any sort of energy emanating from him, and he wasn't even capable of perceiving my presence.">
Okay, now I am really confused.
"Then, what caused a reaction like that?"
If there was nothing strange about him, why did he run away from me?
I mean, I'm a completely normal person living a normal life at home with the typical mother (disregarding the fact that she's possessed), a maid (who mentally is a doll with no ego of her own), and an adoptive older sister (mentally younger as a victim of consecutive possession).
<"I cannot estimate why that human reacted that way, but I can assure you of one thing...">
Furthermore, even though I have my quirks—like destroying trucks using the curses of straw dolls, or training my advanced frying pan swordsmanship style with the unconditional support of Silver, who is a small silver armor—I'm positive there must be tons of other people doing the exact same things to escape the routine!
<"That human didn't direct a single shred of aggression toward you; instead, what I could perceive in him was an emotion I know all too well.">
... Okay, I realize myself that maybe everything I do isn't all that normal. So hesitating for a moment while weighing all of the above, I admit that perhaps I do have one or two flaws.
But changing the subject, I decided to center all my attention on Echidna's reply, swallowing nervously!
"And what emotion would that be?"
And just like that, I popped the million-dollar question!!
<"I perceived how that human felt a deep, pure fear toward you.">
.......
"Of me...?"
... To be frank... At first, I thought Echidna was joking, but judging by the serious look she gave me... I knew she was telling the absolute truth.
"But that only makes it more confusing."
I mean, as you dear readers should already know, I have practically zero attack power even with my best efforts to get stronger, and I even look completely harmless to the naked eye.
"Mmmh..."
What part of me could have possibly scared him that much...?
"Aaaah! This is getting us nowhere!"
However, right at that moment, while I was getting irritated by the absolute lack of logical answers...
("... Mom.")
... That was when Silver, the little silver armor who stubbornly keeps insisting on calling me mom (even though I'm a guy!), called out to me, snapping me out of my deep thoughts.
"—Uhh... Silver?"
And right after that, she showed me an image on the TV screen displaying a colorful group of heroes who transform to fight evil and save the world... Yes... as you might have guessed... I borrowed it (meaning, I plagiarized it shamelessly), cleverly taking advantage of the fact that commercial concept wasn't public domain in this world yet.
What? Don't look at me like that with that face!
If other reincarnated or transmigrated people can do it, why on earth can't I?!
"—I'm sorry little one, but I need some alone time before watching the show with you right now."
Though getting back on track, I tried to ask for a bit of space before sharing another tender moment of quality time, however...
("Transformation, union!")
... It seemed that wasn't what she was trying to tell me at all, as the little armor began to move back and forth in desperation.
("Mom!! Resonance!!")
Until finally, transmitting her intent through those words, a blinding flash began to shine bright.
(¡ZAAAASS!)
As a result, the light was so intense it completely blinded my vision!
"—What the hell?!"
Until, the very next instant...
(¡Ba-BUM!)
... A roar and an overwhelming flash illuminated the entire room all at once.
