Shattered Balance

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡KRAAA-BOOOOOOOM—KRRRRRRRR...!!!!!!!!)

The leaden stillness left by the strangely clear sky over the captive dimension of Ky'lar was shattered in a microsecond, as the tension accumulated between both absolute factions surpassed the limit of existential tolerance.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ZRAAAAAAAKISH—BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM...!!!!!!!!)

There was no room for proclamations or warnings.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡GROOOO-THUMMM-KRAAA-GWAARRGH...!!!!!!!!)

With a roar that made the foundations of the continental barrier groan, the nightmare tide of the Straw Demons lunged forward, crawling through the mud with a frenzied, collective screech that made one's skin crawl.

(¡¡¡ZSHUUU-VRRR-KRAAAK-SHIIII...!!!)

Consequently, in perfect and destructive synchrony, the firmament responded with an apocalyptic descent.

¡¡¡VUUU-ZRAAASH-FIIIISH...!!!

Hundreds of natural spirits of diverse shapes, sizes, and elemental glows broke away from the Spirit Queen's rearguard, falling like a shower of chromatic meteors determined to purge the invading anomaly from their world.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡FSSSSS-SHHHHHH-VROOOOOOMM...!!!!!!!!)

As a result, the space between the two armies became a zone of pure annihilation, where living wood, elemental flashes, and the screeches of rotting straw began to tear each other apart in brutal friction.

"¡¡GRRR-RRR-ARRGH!!!"

And right at the epicenter of the chaos, the monstrous chimera surged forward with visceral violence.

(¡¡¡BOOOM-GSHIIII-ZUUU-ZUUU...!!!)

In this manner, the gigantic, stylized claws of an intense azure glow dug into the underlying bedrock, shattering the compacted earth with each rectilinear swipe as it forced its way toward its prey.

(¡¡¡¡¡KRAK-ZHHH-SHINGGG!!!!!)

As the beast advanced, it left a trail of vibrating static and atmospheric vacuum in its wake, completely ignoring the punishment of elemental impacts that disintegrated upon contact with the vortex of pure entropy enveloping its body...

<...>

Nevertheless, despite its speed, from the heights, the Spirit Queen observed the chimera's advance with her abyssal green eye sockets completely devoid of emotion, while the ancestral vines of her hair tensed in preparation.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ZRAAAAAAAKISH—BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM...!!!!!!!!)

However, contrasting with an absurd speed that defied physical laws, Mireya's chromatic silhouette moved in a violent and erratic zigzag across the ground, dodging the debris and the tide of combatants in fractions of a microsecond like an ascending lightning bolt of pure energy.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ZUMMMMM—KRAK-SHINGGG...!!!!!!!!)

As she advanced, her azure claws left furrows of molten rock in their wake, circling the Spirit Queen's position from the ground before projecting vertically toward the sky in a rectilinear assault...

(¡¡¡¡SHWIIIING—PLAS-TZZZZZZZZ...!!!!)

Thus unleashing an ascending slash, seeking to slice through the existence of the opposing side.

<Disappears.>

However, just before the fatal impact, the thick ancestral vines and ramifications of dense mud that composed the Spirit Queen's hair moved with divine reaction speed, intertwining and hardening instantly to form an armored plant shield that blocked the trajectory of the energy blade.

(¡¡¡¡¡JUE-DOOOOMMM—KRRRRRRRR...!!!!)

The resulting collision released a shower of static sparks and boiling sap that burned the surrounding air.

"¡Grrr-RRR-AAARRRGH...!"

But immediately after, upon seeing her advance halted, the Spirit Queen granted no reprieve; responding by extending and sharpening her pale jade hands into boiling, dark, and stylized claws of an aberrant length, imbued with a murderous vibration.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ZRAAAAAAAKISH—FSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...!!!!!!!!)

And without a single millisecond of hesitation, the sovereign unleashed a cross-swipe designed to dismember the chimera in mid-air, in an attack so swift that it distorted the quantum space around them.

"¡¡¡¡GWRAAAA...!!!!!"

But at that instant where the human mind would have been incapable of processing the danger, the magical crisis-evasion ability activated automatically, moving her body in reaction out of pure defensive reflex, contracting in an unnatural spasm mid-air.

(¡¡¡¡¡SHWIIII-ZUUUUU~!!!!!)

As a result, the volcanic jade claws passed a mere few millimeters from her black scales, tearing only the atmospheric vacuum and dissipating the steam currents with the shockwave of the near-miss, while the chimera fell backward toward the mud, instantly resetting her combat stance.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡KABOOOOOOOM-FSHHH!!!!)

And immediately after, before her azure claws could fully settle in the mire, Mireya's chimera unleashed an immediate counterattack.

"¡¡¡¡¡GWRAAAA-SHWIIIING-GROOOOOOOOO-GWAARRGHHH-AAAAAAARRRGHHH!!!!!"

And in a roar of pure fury, she spread wide her majestic, jet-black-membraned draconic wings and beat them backward with visceral force, generating a colossal sonic wave that swept away the boiling steam and cracked the underlying ground in a perfect ring.

(¡¡¡¡¡ZWUUUUUUUU-KABUUUUUUUUM...!!!!!)

As a result, the momentum projected her upward at an absurd speed, turning her silhouette into a trail of distorted chromatic light that charged in a straight line against the sovereign.

<She fast... is>

Who in response, without retreating a single millimeter, soared above the currents of natural energy and deployed a pair of titanic, grotesque wings from her back, composed of a living amalgam of twisted ancestral roots, pale jade thorns, and dense layers of sharp foliage dripping with fluorescent sap.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡FSSSSS-SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...!!!!!!!!)

And immediately after, flapping her elemental wings, the Queen dove, transforming herself in turn into a flash of emerald-green radiance that descended with the heaviness of an asteroid.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡PLAS-TZZZZZZZZ...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

In this manner, the clear sky of Ky'lar became the canvas for a frenzied and destructive martial dance as both entities transformed into two lights colliding repeatedly in the middle of the firmament.

(¡¡¡FSHH-ZZZT-BOOOMM-CRASHH!!!)

As a result, the firmament was completely crisscrossed by a perfect grid of luminous strokes, as if the night sky had been carved by a faceted crystal.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡ZUT-KRAK-ZUT-KRAK-BOOOMMM!!!!!)

Each clash, each feint, and each rectilinear impact in the heights generated a concentric shockwave that shook the planetary barrier, disintegrating the suspended golden particles and leaving in its wake an ephemeral trail of light streaks that marked the trajectory of their mutual existential annihilation.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡BRRRR-KABOOOOMMM-SHWWWAAAAA...!!!!!!!!)

But while the light streaks of the chimera and the sovereign continued to tear the firmament apart with the violence of a quantum cataclysm, the ground of the clearing turned into a cauldron of pure, relentless carnage, where the tide of Straw Demons collided head-on with the shower of elemental meteors.

(¡¡¡¡¡KRRR-CHIT-CHIT-SKRRREEEE-FSSSSS...!!!!!)

Despite being considered low-ranking entities within the existential hierarchy, the Straw Demons made up for their lack of mystical purity with terrifying malleability and potential.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡KRRR-CHIT-CHIT-SKRRREEEE-FSSSSS...!!!!!!!!)

Upon impacting the muddy bed, their physiognomies began to twist under aberrant anatomical spasms; as the dry straw fibers and rusted stitching stretched and compacted within milliseconds, mutating into hypertrophied maws, asymmetrical limbs, and claws of beastly proportions that defied all logic.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡GROOOO-THUMMM-KRAAA-GWAARRGH...!!!!!!!!)

At that moment, like curses consumed by an overwhelming emotion of hatred, and charging on all fours, transformed into distorted versions of wolves and apes, they lunged forward with superhuman physical capabilities, ignoring any trace of pain or self-preservation.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡FSSSSS-SHHHHHH-VROOOOOOMM...!!!!!!!!)

But on the other side, the Spirits, composed of natural energy as mostly mid-ranking elemental entities, reacted to the presence of the curses with an instinctive and visceral hostility, determined to purge the threat.

(¡¡¡¡FZZZH-WUUUSH-KRAKK-RUMMMB!!!!)

And manifesting as formations of living plasma, gusts of shearing wind, and dense telluric masses, the entities lunged forward, driven by a continuous energetic current flowing directly from the core of the world.

(¡¡FZZZZ-VROOOOOOMM!!)

Thus, impacts of absolute heat and projections of pure atmospheric pressure rammed into the straw beasts, acting as antibodies seeking to wipe out the plague.

(¡¡PUFFFF-VRAAASHHHH!!)

However, the systematic offensive of the spirits immediately crashed against the biological tenacity of the curses.

(¡¡¡FROOOSHH-KRAK-BURN!!!)

Each straw demon that was dismembered or crushed by natural energy refused to perish.

(¡¡VUUUSH-ZZZIT-SWISHHH!!)

Thanks to their aberrant and accelerated regeneration, the scorched fibers intertwined once more with the sibilant sound of insects weaving in the dark, counterattacking at an absurd speed to drag the spirits down into the mire.

(¡¡¡¡¡KABOOM-CRUNCH-KRAKTH!!!!!!)

As a result, the confrontation on the ground transformed into an absolute war of attrition: a mechanical and visceral clash between the planet's energetic antibodies fighting to cleanse the terrain, and the hordes of straw chimeras constantly shifting shapes, continuously regenerating in numerical superiority.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM...!!!!!!!!)

In this manner, while the center of the clearing sank into an endless cycle of immunological purging and cursed regeneration, the flanks of the cataclysm erupted with their own colossal violence, dragging the support forces to an absolute limit.

(¡¡¡KABOOOOOOOM-FSHHH!!!!)

On the right flank, the border of golden particles shattered as Goldie collided head-on with Keahi.

"Is this all you have?!"

The clash of his fists against the plates of basaltic rock and viscous magma generated thermal detonations that cracked the surrounding space.

"MOVE ASIDE!!"

With his crimson pupils fixed on his target, Goldie exchanged direct blows at an absurd speed; where each impact from his bare hands imbued the fire colossus's body with threads of blinding light that exploded the dense magma from within, forcing the primordial spirit to roar as his mane of blue flames crackled violently to counteract the deity's judgment.

(¡¡¡CRRR-CRAAA-CRAAACK...!!!)

Concurrently, on the left flank, the silver valkyrie transformed the terrestrial siege into a display of aerial lethality.

"Royal Style..."

Silver propelled herself vertically, leaping into the air with a martial lightness that defied the gravity of the oppressive microclimate.

"Ascending Cascade!"

As she ascended, hundreds of geometric earth formations and deep ochre crystals projected omnidirectionally from Eldora-Gideon's wall to impale her; however, wielding her greatsword with surgical mastery, Silver traced perfect arcs imbued with gray, spectral flames, slicing through the needles of living stone mid-flight and turning the Great Earth Spirit's attack into a shower of pulverized debris before hitting the mud.

(¡¡¡¡CLANK-CLK-CLK-CHHHHHHHH-KRNGGGGG...!!!!!)

And right behind the straw tide, the rearguard itself set in motion with a colossal and implacable weight.

(¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡SWWWWWUUUUUUUUH-RRRRRGH...!!!!!!!!)

The transformed inn, now converted into a massive and imposing architectural fortress of liquid bronze, twisted wood, and mechanical gears, began to advance monstrously over the bedrock; as Brownie forged ahead like a massive, unstoppable destroyer, crushing the ground, shattered trees, and any lesser spiritual formation beneath his gigantic tracks and grinding jaws of living metal.
