Prologue

I only remember walking down the street, looking at my phone, and in the very next instant, an infinite and terrifying darkness that engulfed everything.

Okay, I'm not gonna lie: I was terrified!

I tried to scream, demanding an answer or breaking the silence, but no voice came out... And it was then that I realized I had no mouth... nor a body.

At first, I tried to cling to the logic of the stories I used to read. I thought this was the typical prologue where a "God" would send me to another world, just like in stories, and I'd live all kinds of epic adventures.

But... no matter how long I waited, no one arrived and nothing changed.

I don't know how much time passed, because the concept of time didn't exist.

No matter how much I screamed like a madman, cried, or tried to destroy what I am now, there was no response!

I just wanted to go crazy, but strangely, even that wasn't possible, since I didn't have a brain... A ridiculously perfect torture.

To keep from losing my sanity, I repeated my memories until I reached a conclusion: it was all the fault of a truck.

I will never forgive that damn thing! If I ever see it again, I'll destroy it, even if it costs me my life!

Oh, sorry, I got carried away by the hatred toward whatever put me in this hell.

What? That it's also my fault for not paying attention?

Look, my friend, I don't think crossing the street without looking deserves a punishment of this level in limbo...

Calm down, me... remember your happy place, go back to your happy place.

That's it, alright, I calmed down.

Well, life (if you can even call it that?) in this limbo is at least stable until, suddenly, everything lit up.

A beautiful stream of colors like I had never seen before illuminated me, and in an instant... I opened my eyes and could see something other than darkness.

And for the first time in a long, long, long, LOOOOOONG TIME!

I cried like there was no tomorrow until I fell asleep.
