69 The Golden Peach Tree discovered

Shi Tian moved into the mountains, running through the woods, his speed was fast, but his movements were silent. It was like he was flying into the forest. He was literally walking on the air.

There are many spirit beasts in the mountains, but he avoided them easily. He didn't want to waste his time by entangling himself with these low-rank beasts. He saw some spirit herbs as well, but they were ordinary herbs. He didn't have much interest in them.

As he walked into the depth of the forest for a few hours, the number of beasts started to increase, their strength was also increasing. He sensed the auras of forth ranked spirit beasts that were comparable to a spirit grandmaster human warrior.

He guessed, that he should have left the territory of the Red Cloud Kingdom by now.

Somewhere in the deep mountains, a group of people has gathered together in front of a valley. The valley was around five or six km long and two hundred meters wide. There was a small water lake in the middle of the valley.

At this time, many spirit beasts gather in the valley around the lake. There was a ten feet long tree standing in the middle of the lake, a faint golden colored spirit qi was emitting by the golden fruits which were hanging on its tree. Every spirit beast seemed to be staring at the tree with longing eyes.

If Shi Tian was here he would immediately recognize this tree, isn't the Golden Peach Fruit Tree.

The golden peach fruit tree was protected by a white layer of the protective light curtain which was making ripples from time to time. The spirit beasts were madly attacking the light curtain trying to break it open but couldn't.

The groups of humans staring at the spirit beasts from above, seem to be waiting for something. There are 14 people in this group, from their attire they looked like mercenaries.

"Boss, long do we have to wait here?" One of the men said to the man who was standing in front. The leader was a burly middle-aged man, holding a long sword in his hands.

"Yes, boss! We are waiting here for two days already and there is still no sign of them. Why don't we just go ourselves and take the fruits."

"Do you have a death wish? There are dozens of fourth-ranked spirit beasts guarding the tree, we don't stand a chance." One of them said in a fearful tone.

"So what? We don't need to fight them, we just need to distract them and steal the fruits from the tree." The man refused.

"Boss, how about let it go? There is no need to take such a huge risk for a few fruits."

"What are you saying? These are not regular golden peaches but rank among the four golden peach fruit. One golden peach can promote a person to the Spirit Lord realm. We are lucky enough to encounter them, I am not leaving without taking one."

The mercenaries started quarreling with each other.

"Silent!" The leader shouted loudly, immediately shutting up their mouths.

"There is no point in fighting. The Golden Peach Fruits haven't matured yet, we have to wait anyway. And If anyone didn't want to take part in the battle, he can leave now. There is no space for cowards in my group." The leader said loudly.

At this time, another group of nine people walked over led by an old man.

"Boss, they are here!" One of them man shouted as he looked in the direction of the old man and his groups who were running towards them at high speed.

"Old Bai, what took you so long?" The leader said to the old man.

"Zheng Kai, where is it? Where is the Spirit Tree?" An old man asked excitedly.

"There!" Zheng Kai pointed towards the lake and said. The old man looked in the direction pointed by the middle-aged man, his brows creased slightly when he saw many spirit beasts, then his gaze landed on the tree in the middle of the lake.

"This... This is really a Spirit Tree, moreover, it's a Golden Peach Fruit Spirit Tree!" The old man said with excitement. He looked at the tree for a few seconds and spoke again, "If we calculate the size of the tree, this tree should have reached fourth rank spirit tree. A fourth rank golden peach fruit can instantly promote a Ninth Layer Spirit grandmaster to the Spirit Lord realm. These fruits are absolute treasures!"

"What is that light shield?" At this time, a person from the old man's group asked curiously.

The old Bai spoke calmly, "This is a formation. Someone left a protection array around the tree, with the passing of time the formation must have gotten weak or the person who placed the formation wasn't a skilled array master. Whatever, the formation is about to break soon. We have to take action as soon as possible before these beasts reached the tree."

"I think so!" Zheng Kai nodded."Come on, let's clear these beasts first we can discuss other things later!"

"You are right!" Old Bai nodded as he also ordered his men to move forward. Over two dozen people immediately charged at the spirit beasts.

...

After running for many hours, Shi Tian finally reached the location given by his mother.

"It should be around here!" Shi Tian looked at the surroundings and murmured slowly. After that, he started looking for the valley, his mother told him the golden peach tree was in a valley which has a lake in middle.

Shi Tian wandered in the forest for thirty minutes but still couldn't find the right valley. There were many valleys in these mountains.

'Sigh! I am missing Earth's GPS now.' Shi Tian sighed lightly.

At this time, he heard some noises, he curiously walked in the direction where the noises were coming from.

Roar!!!

Roarr!!

"Hmm! There are other people here!" As Shi Tian come close, he sensed a few auras of human cultivators.

Shi Tian was slightly surprised as he walked over there to see what was going on. He looked down in the valley from above.

There are dozens of people were fighting against the groups of spirit beasts in the valley.

'Why are these people fighting here?' Shi Tian looked at the dozens of people and spirit beasts curiously, he wasn't much interested in the fight as he didn't like to interfere in other people's matters.

While he was watching the battle, he curiously glanced around.

"This..." At this time, he noticed something that caused him to become surprised.

There was a small lake. In the center of the lake, there was a ten feet long tree standing with dozens of golden fruits hanging on its branches. When he looked at the golden fruit tree, he was startled because he recognized the tree. Isn't the golden peach fruit tree.

'The Golden Peach Fruit Tree!' He couldn't help but exclaim inwardly.

'Could be there are more golden peach fruit trees in this forest?' Shi Tian couldn't help but thought in his mind but soon shook away this weird thought.

That means this tree should be the same that his mother has mentioned. But how come people knew about it? This tree is supposed to be hidden by the formation. Is the formation stopped already?

Many questions popped up in his mind, in the end, Shi Tian guessed the formation must have stopped working otherwise these people would never be able to find the location of the Golden Peach Tree. And those spirit beasts should be the ones who discovered the tree first, they must have been attracted by the spirit qi released by the golden peach fruit after the formation stopped functioning.

"What should I do now?" Shi Tian paused and started thinking. Things are getting complicated right now, he didn't expect this situation. One thing was sure he was not going to return home empty-handed. Not when the Golden Peach Fruit still hanging on the tree.

Shi Tian didn't come forward but decided to observe the situation from behind for a while before making his move.
